Brief description of source: My great grandfather (Sang Bin Yim or Nin Shou Bin)was send to Japanese Navy in 1940. He was just twenty three years old looking for a job to support his family. One day, he was encouraged to go to Japan to find well payed job by Korean who favored Japanese. Eventually, he went to Japan to find job but when he arrived in Japan, he figured it out that he was deceived but it was too late to go back. He was send to Japanese Navy to fight for Japanese empire and to be human shield. He fought great to survive out of the war, by his effort, he got promoted to captain. When he got promoted to captain, he had capability to send money to his family. (With the money, he bought land, and few mountains). Before he went to Pacific war, he fought in South Asia. However, he survived out of the several fierce battle in Pacific. Then he went to South Sea Island(Nanyogoontou)to recover and to fix his ship. But unfortunately, American soldiers was planning to bomb South Sea Islands that day, eventually American's bombers bombed the Islands. He was twenty six years old(he died, only his knife survived out of the bombing).

Short explanation of the source’s significance to the event: There was not only Japanese fighting in the war and was working in the war, there were also Koreans, who had to die alone in foreign country.
Written or oral (e.g. podcast) recount of the event with direct reference to all of the sources: World War two began on Sept. 1, 1939, when Germany invaded Poland without declaring war. In Sept. 3, 1939, Britain, France and all of the European nation declared war to Germany, and everything started. Before World War two, Japan was already taking over most of Asia. Unfortunately Japan did not have any natural resources, which they had to depend 80% of their materials on US. When Japan and US started to have little conflicts in South Asia and in China, US stopped exporting to Japan under an Export Control Act. This kind of US behavior made Japan angry and to feel threat. Eventually, in 1941, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. But for revenge, US payed back Japan by striking Hiroshima and Nagasaki with Nuclear bombs.
